1. General Questions

What electrical requirements do pumps need?

20-30 amp service. 1 HP and 1.5 HP pumps can run on 110V or 220V (specify at checkout). 2 HP pumps require 220V only. If using an extension cord: minimum 12-gauge, maximum 50' length.

How do I winterize my system?

Simple 15-minute process: (1) Disconnect quick-connect hoses, (2) Pull filter from water, (3) Drain pump completely, (4) Store everything in garage/shed. Spring startup is just as easy—reconnect and go. Complete winterization guide included.

How long do pumps last?

Our cast iron pumps typically last 10-15+ years with basic maintenance. Some customers report 20+ years. Plastic pumps from big box stores average 2-4 years.

What warranty do you offer?

All BeachGroomer systems include a 1-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Little Giant pumps also carry the manufacturer's warranty. If something goes wrong, call 800.817.1850 and we'll coordinate repairs or replacement quickly.

Which pump package size do I need?

It depends on your property size and intended use:

  • 1 HP: ½-1 acre, up to 8 sprinkler heads, cottages
  • 1.5 HP: 1-2 acres, 8-12 sprinkler heads, year-round homes (most popular)
  • 2 HP: 2+ acres, 12+ sprinkler heads, estates or commercial

Do I need a complete pump package or just a pump?

If you already have a filter, suction hose, check valve, and pump base—you just need a pump. If you're starting from scratch or missing any components, our complete packages include everything and save you money versus buying separately.

Will your irrigation pumps work with my existing sprinkler system?

Yes, in most cases. Our pumps use standard NPT connections and deliver pressure comparable to municipal water systems. If you're currently using city water for irrigation, our pumps are direct replacements. Call 800.817.1850 to verify compatibility.

Does the BeachGroomer require a pump?

Yes. The Basic BeachGroomer requires a 1-2 HP irrigation pump that you provide. Our Complete Bundle include everything: BeachGroomer, pump, filter, hoses, and all hardware.

Can I use lake water for irrigation?

Absolutely—that's exactly what our systems are designed for. Our Big Foot Filter removes debris and sediment, delivering clean water to your pump and sprinklers. You'll save $2,500-$4,500 annually versus using municipal water.

Most orders ship from our Minnesota facility within 2-3 business days. Standard shipping takes 2-5 business days.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! Free shipping on all orders over $500 within the continental United States. Orders under $500 have standard shipping rates calculated at checkout.
