Warranty Information

Your BeachGroomer is covered for one year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and tear, damage from improper installation, or using the system outside its intended specifications are not covered. If you experience any issues during your first year, call 800.817.1850 and we'll diagnose the problem and handle repairs or replacements at no cost to you.

Does this really work without chemicals?

Yes—BeachGroomer mechanically removes weeds by uprooting them with rotating chains, eliminating roots and all. Thousands of customers have cleared their shorelines completely without a single chemical treatment. The difference: chemicals kill visible growth but leave roots that regrow. BeachGroomer removes the entire plant, preventing regrowth naturally.

How long does it take to clear my swimming area?

Typically 2-6 hours per 16-foot diameter area, depending on weed density. Light to moderate weeds often clear in 2-3 hours. Denser weed beds may take 4-6 hours. Most customers clear their entire 50-100 foot shoreline in one day by repositioning the unit 3-4 times. Total active work on your part: about 20 minutes of moving it between positions.

Do I need to already own a pump?

Not if you buy a Complete Bundle which includes the pump, filter, hoses, and all hardware. If you buy the Basic Package ($2,499), you'll need a 1-2 HP irrigation pump. Is it safe for fish, pets, and swimmers?

Completely safe. Zero chemicals enter the water. The slow rotation and chain design don't harm fish—they simply swim away. No waiting period before swimming. Pets can drink from the lake immediately. Unlike chemicals that stress ecosystems, mechanical removal maintains your lake's natural balance.

Can I use this if my weeds are already thick and dense?

Yes, though best results come from using it before weeds become extremely dense. For very thick growth, you may need to do some initial hand-raking to free the arms on the first pass, then let BeachGroomer finish the job and prevent regrowth. Many customers start mid-season with already-established weeds and get excellent results within a few days.

Do I need a permit to use this?

Regulations vary by state, county, and lake association. Most areas allow mechanical weed removal, though some require a simple shoreline alteration notice filed with your local DNR. Many areas that restrict or ban chemical treatments allow mechanical removal. Call 800.817.1850 and we can point you to the exact requirements for your specific lake.

How deep does the water need to be?

BeachGroomer works best in 2-6 feet of water depth—shallow enough for chains to reach the bottom, deep enough for arms to rotate freely. The foam floats on the arm ends automatically keep them at optimal depth. If your swimming area is in this depth range, you're good to go.

Will this work on a rocky lake bottom?

BeachGroomer works best on sandy, silty, or soft lake bottoms where aquatic weeds typically root. Hard rock bottoms usually don't support heavy weed growth anyway. If you have scattered rocks with weedy areas between them, the chains will work around obstacles. Very rocky bottoms with minimal soft sediment may limit effectiveness.

How much maintenance does it require?

Virtually none. During season: Just operate as needed—no daily maintenance. After each use: Rinse off debris (5 minutes). Annually: Inspect chains for wear and replace if needed. Winter storage: Disconnect, pull from water, store indoors (10 minutes). No motors to service, no electronics to fail, no complicated upkeep.
