Frequently Asked Questions

Warranty Information

Your BeachGroomer pump package is covered for one year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and tear, damage from improper installation, or using the system outside its intended specifications are not covered. If you experience any issues during your first year, call 800.817.1850 and we'll diagnose the problem and handle repairs or replacements at no cost to you.

How much will I actually save on my water bill?

Most lakefront property owners save $2,500-$4,500 annually on irrigation costs alone. If you're also using the pump for dock cleaning, boat washing, or powering a BeachGroomer, total savings typically run $3,900-$7,200 per year. The exact amount depends on your property size, current municipal water rates, and usage patterns.

What's the payback period on these pump packages?

Typically 4-8 months depending on your property size and current water costs. A 1-acre property spending $300/month on summer irrigation will recoup the cost of a $1,999 package in about 6-7 months. After that first season, it's pure savings every year.

What about the electricity cost to run the pump?

Minimal compared to water costs. Running a 1.5 HP pump costs approximately $0.15-$0.25 per hour of operation. Even if you irrigate 10 hours per week throughout the entire summer season, that's only $3-5 per week in electricity versus $60-110 per week for municipal water. The electricity cost is roughly 95% less than paying for city water.

Which pump package size do I need?

It depends on three factors: property size, number of sprinkler zones, and intended use. Here's a quick guide:

  • 1 HP: ½ to 1 acre, up to 8 sprinkler heads, cottage or seasonal use
  • 1.5 HP: 1 to 2 acres, 8-12 sprinkler heads, year-round homes (most popular)
  • 2 HP: 2+ acres, 12+ sprinkler heads, estates or commercial applications

Not sure? Call 800.817.1850 and we'll calculate your exact requirements based on property size, elevation change, and equipment needs.

Can I use this pump package to power my BeachGroomer weed control system?

Yes—that's exactly what it's designed for. Every pump package delivers the pressure and flow rate needed to operate any BeachGroomer aquatic weed removal system. Many customers use one pump for both lawn irrigation and BeachGroomer operation.

Will this work with my existing sprinkler system?

Yes, in most cases. Our pumps use standard NPT connections and deliver pressure comparable to municipal water systems (40-60 PSI depending on model). If you're currently running city water to your sprinklers, this pump will work as a direct replacement. We can verify compatibility if you call 800.817.1850 with your system details.

My property has a significant slope from the pump location to the lake. Will this work?

Our pumps handle vertical lifts (suction lift) up to 25-40 feet depending on the model. If your elevation change is within this range, you're good to go. For properties with extreme elevation changes or unusual configurations, call 800.817.1850 and we'll verify whether our system will work for your specific situation.

Is lake water safe for my lawn and plants?

Absolutely—it's actually better than municipal water in many ways. Lake water contains natural minerals and nutrients that promote healthy grass and plant growth. Unlike treated city water, it has no chlorine or chemical additives that can stress plants. Our Big Foot Filter removes debris and sediment while preserving these beneficial natural elements.

What if my lake water is dirty, has algae, or lots of floating debris?

That's exactly why we include the 40-gallon Big Foot Filter with every package. You have two filtration options:

  • Filter Matting: Traps debris as small as fine sediment. Best for clean to moderately dirty water. Easily removable for occasional cleaning (takes about 5 minutes, no tools required).
  • Pea Rock: Provides maximum flow with minimal resistance. Self-cleaning design requires little maintenance. Best for continuous-use applications.

For very dirty or algae-filled water, you may need to clean the filter matting occasionally during peak season—but symptoms (loss of pressure) will tell you when it's time.

Your Water Bill Ends Today

Let's do the math that your utility company doesn't want you to see:

Average lakefront property (1-2 acres):

  • Summer water usage: 8,000-12,000 gallons per week for irrigation
  • Municipal water cost: $0.008-$0.015 per gallon (varies by region)
  • Peak season monthly bill: $250-$450
  • Annual irrigation cost: $2,800-$4,200
  • 5-year cost: $14,000-$21,000

    Your lake:
  • Unlimited gallons
  • Cost: $0

A $1,999 pump package saves you $2,800-$4,200 every single year. That's a payback period of 5-8 months. Then it's pure savings—year after year after year.

Plus you're already sitting on the water source. You bought lakefront property specifically to have access to the water. Why pay someone else to truck it to you?
